The tv has an app you can download to a smart phone, in the app their is a setup where you can configure the tv to the type of room shape and size you have. The speaker has a sound wave technology that signals off of objects and walls to distribute sound evenly.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't have experience with a ceiling that high, but our ceiling is 11.5 ft and the reflecting is amazing. We have ours laying flat under the TV and it is amazing. Take a look at the exploded view of the playbar so you can see which way the speakers point. That might help in your decision. The way I understand it all, is that you really want the bar as close to ear-level as possible.

Please try again later.Personal opinion is that you would NOT want to mount above TV as that tends to move the sound field for the characters on the screen "above their heads" - one big reason you don't see tv speakers on top. Also makes it tough to create a natural "surround" experience without a lot of jockeying with speaker angles which most wall mounts don't allow
