Yes. My husband has this Sony pair, when his battery depletes, he can use the cable to have audio, but not noise canceling. My Bowers Wilkins PX do not have that feature.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Noise cancelling requires power, so I would imaging the noise cancelling turns of as well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No because noise canceling requires power ( if you don't know, the noise canceling function uses the mic on the headset to listen to ambient noise then play an inverse canceling sound through the headphones. ) You will still get some passive noise canceling since the ear cups seal against your head and muffle outside noise ( but the QC35 do that as well ).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Active noise cancelling requires sound waves produced in opposition to the incoming ambient noise. For this, power (electricity) is needed. In short, with dead battery you just have your regular headphones without noise cancelling.

Please try again later.Hi, Anton, The noise canceling function is not available when the headset is turned off or the battery is empty even if you connect the headphone cable. You may find this link very helpful for more information about its functionality: https://docs.sony.com/release//Help_4697257111.pdf -Jerome
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I believe these are the same--sound will work, but no noise-cancelling without battery power.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it works with a wire without power
