According to the sales rep at Best Buy, this model is surround sound which is good for TV and music. The HT-CT790 has a center speaker in the soundbar that is used solely for movie dialogue because the sound is recorded differently, that way you will not have explosive music in the movie but be unable to hear the dialogue. We bought this model at a great price during holidays, and I haven't noticed an issue with movies.
