• I believe if you hook up the soundbar with the optical cable AND a HDMI cable into the 3rd HDMI port (ARC), the TV remote will SYNC to the sound bar. I didn't do it, but the instructions made it pretty clear that it was the advantage of having a Sony TV and sound bar. I had difficulty getting it to sync with the DirecTv remote however.
