Yes, the PS Vita and PS TV (aka PS Vita TV) require the Sony memory card, which is very expensive compared to standard SD cards. However, while annoying, once you bite the bullet and get the 32, you'll have room for more titles than you can play at any given time. With the occasional uninstall of long unused data, you won't have a need for any other memory cards, making it a one time purchase with plenty of capability. It's not pleasant, but it's definitely worth doing.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Unfortunately, the Vita only works with the PSVita cards (SD is not supported). I agree, these are overpriced, but these cards seem to be more stable than a regular SD card, and you will be happy to have extra storage in time. I was torn between 16GB and 32GB cards, but ultimately went with 32GB because 1) it is a one time cost, and 2) the extra storage meant less wear and tear on the card over time.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No you can't. Vita will not recognize the SD card and it will just end up being a waste of time. How do I know? Because I tried. Sony goes and says it's for copy protections reasons but it's just a money shakedown. So sorry but you will have to purchase theirs for the vita.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Well sony decided to make memory cards that only work for the vita so sadly you cannot use the SD card from a third-party you have to buy the one that Sony has made
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The difference is a small adjustment in the shape of the card. It is slightly wider than a micro sd card so thoae will not work. Rhye made sure to make the vita obly compatible with their cards and have not made any adapters to make microsd cards work with them
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Only compatible with Vita PlayStation.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is exclusive for the PlayStation Vita and TV, for security purposes. SD and MicroSD are today's standard and can easily be accessed by devices other than just the Vita, thus the need to create something more unique as per Sony.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This unit is for a PS Vita only and is not an SD card.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.sd card and ps memory they different cuz sony made their own verison for only ps vita sd card are to big for it or other memory for the ps vita they want to have their own than buying from other company that why it different
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I know this is a rather late answer, but here it is: the Vita can ONLY use the proprietary PS Vita memory cards sold by Sony. SD is not compatible, and to my knowledge there aren't any third party alternatives (someone else may chime in to correct me if I'm wrong). It stinks, but with a little digging, perhaps you can bring the cost down some (price matching, clearance shopping, reward certs, etc).
