“How does the Atmos/DTX work in a "vaulted ceiling" setting? Our family room where we have our home theater system has a ceiling that starts at 10 feet and vaults up to 17 feet.”

The add ons are designed for a flat drywall ceiling because they reflect off ceilings. For a vaulted ceiling these addons can be wall mounted. Check out Dolby Labs installation layout information Depends also on flexibility of your AVR
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The front Dolby Atmos speakers likely may not work as well for a vaulted ceiling as for a normal height ceiling. The Dolby Atmos speakers’ purpose is to bounce the sound off the ceiling to the listener in order to simulate overhead sounds. Another option is to install in ceiling speakers for Dolby Atmos, but before doing so I’d recommend talking to a home theater installation expert for options involving vaulted ceilings.
