QuestionWhat is the actual ( not effective) refresh rate for this tv?

- Answer Almost all tv’s rate their refresh rate at double the real rate. The actual refresh rate, like many newer tv’s is 60 Hz... but don’t let that scare you. It’s a higher end model line and has an excellent processor and software for handling motion. Refresh rates have become a less important thing that in years gone by. It used to be a really big thing to me, but I’ve researched enough to realize it ain’t a biggee these days. rtngs.com is an excellent resource for review of any tv and this what they say about the motion rate of the 800H: Gamers will appreciate the incredibly low input lag, but unfortunately, it doesn't support any variable refresh rate technology... The X800H has a 60Hz panel and can interpolate lower frame rate content up to 60Hz. Content with fast-moving objects looks good....” I looked at Vizio m quantum -not good off-angle viewing And not available when I bought my Sony. Samsung Nanocell -they have a device called a 1 connect containing all the hdmi ports. These go bad and cost$100+ to replace, and that’s what went wrong with my 5y/o Samsung. I don’t want that 1 connect in another tv. I watch a lot of TV or Home Theater. And image quality is very important to me; I’m happy with the picture. I have a Roku so the built-in Chromecast isn’t something I use, but some may find all the apps useful. The Sony is the right size for my small living room and does a good job with glare reduction for nearby windows. Our seats are the only ones in the house that see the tv directly, so off angle viewing is essential if we have guests. My research was extensive and I wouldn’t/didn’t want any other tv on the market right now...but...there are many good ones out there. If your needs aren’t like mine, some might fit those needs better. Overall, you won’t be disappointed if you buy this TV. It’s worth the money. Hope this not only answers the question but provides other useful information.

- Answer The TV has many, but not all the apps present on the Apple TV. For instance, if you want Netflix or Amazon prime, these apps are available on this TV so you don't need an Apple TV. However, if you want Apple TV plus, you need an Apple TV.

QuestionJay, You said that this tv doesn’t pair with Bluetooth headphones. That’s the major reason I bought this tv because my wife wears hearing aids and this tv has Bluetooth. I don’t understand the purpose of its Bluetooth if it doesn’t work with headphones.

- Answer Hi Terry, We apologize for the inconvenience. The Bluetooth function of this TV will work by pairing the Bluetooth keyboard and mouse to an Android TV device, this is low energy Bluetooth. There are different specifications of Bluetooth. This model doesn’t have the A2DP (stereo audio)2 standard. This would be found on the X900H and above. - Answer It works fine with as a digital tuner for your digital antenna. If your not going to connect WIFI and stream services there may be cheaper options while still having a great picture. It is a great SmartTV.

- Answer Hi Nak, Thank you for the interest! The XBR43X800H is a great TV, but it does not have a camera. There is a microphone that's only built-in to the remote control, which has to be pressed to activate. Sony has a Privacy Policy to help protect your personal information, as well as that of your family and children. QuestionI am looking at the 43" model. My concern is does the stand stick out too far? I have a soundbar & Sonos speakers & very little room. My old Sony which is dying too soon has a small 5" deep oval footprint stand--it's perfect. Why is this stand so deep?

- Answer We just bought a 43" model and the feet stands do stick out very far; we almost had to buy a new tv stand to fit it; not sure that the sound bar and speakers will fit. We had a Samsung that had a foot stand and like you said...it was perfect. We do not like the new stick stands...they seem pointless!

QuestionCan I turn off the smart features? I value my privacy and I do not want a TV connected to the internet.

- Answer When setting up the TV, don't connect it to a network (wired or wireless) and skip all the parts that ask you to log in or setup anything related to a network. If you have already setup the TV thinking you had to setup all that stuff, there is an option to reset the TV back to factory defaults. Do that, then go through the setup again how you want to. I am using my 2 TVs as computer monitors and both work just fine without any smart features. They function simply as displays. Nothing else. I have a PS4 connected to one of the monitors that I use that for any streaming for when I want to do that. For those curious, enable 'game mode' on the displays to reduce the input lag response to 10.2 milliseconds. See the review on www.rtings.com.

- Answer Hi BeachWalker, Yes, this unit has Bluetooth and has version 4.2 which supports mouse/keyboard connectivity. However, the TV does not natively support Bluetooth audio out. This feature may work with a compatible external USB Bluetooth Adapter or 3rd party Bluetooth applications that can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.
