in my humble opinion i absolutely think it's worth it to upgrade to a 4K tv. i have just done this and immediately can tell the difference in picture quality (4K tvs have 4x the pixels of regular 1080p). this is my 1st 4K tv purchase and think this tv does a great job with up-converting. even watching a DVD essentially being unconverted by the BluRay player for HD, then being unconverted again by the TV for UltraHD looks pretty good. i too was skeptical about making the jump, but now i'm a believer. cheers.

I swapped out a 9 year old Sony Bravia and there is a diffrence, i think the television looks much more vibrant and sharper. But the bigest readon i bought this was mainly because my almost 10 year old LCD ran very warm and would make feel like a sauna. These new tv's run so efficient now its amazing. They release virtually no heat at all and it keeps my room cooler during my PS4 marathons. I also use it mainly to stream movies and play PS4 games the Witches 3 looks amazing so does the latest Batman. You are right there isnt much in the way of content for 4K's yet but netflix does have UHD streaming albeit not much, but the future looks bright. hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I purchased my first 4K tv, and I think it is worth it. I really like the TV, the display is excellent. 4K TV is the wave of the future and I think that it is important to embrace this technology... more and more carriers are working to accommodate 4K TV. Netfix as well. You can't go wrong with this Sony TV. When I tell you it is a work of art... it is awesome!

A High Definition TV with 1080p resolution is composed of two million pixels (1920 x 1080), while a 4K TV (aka Ultra High Definition) has over eight million pixels (3840 x 2160). Therefore, 4K has around four times more resolution than 1080p and produces a clearer picture. I kindly share with you a link with all the specifications of the TV: https://docs.sony.com/release/specs/XBR49X830C_mksp.pdf. - Oscar.
