- Answer The A1e is the older model and the A8f is newer with new tech and better processor. It is suppose to have brighter brights but to me its based on your judgement. Honestly, the upgraded model of the a1e is the a9f.

- Answer There is a button on the bottom end of the remote just under the "Sony" name. It is very discreet. Push that button in and gently pry the case cover off.

QuestionWill the 4k tv work with my direct tv hd service, do i need to upgrade to a new receiver? If i do not want to pay more to direct tv, should i stick with non 4k tv?

QuestionI have read the Kick Stand must be attached to the Sony 55 A1E when Mounting on the wall to achieve the proper bass? I called Sony and they said it wasn’t necessary. I need help- ? Does it need to be attached or not. Renee

- Answer Looks like I can answer my own question the kickstand does not need to be on the TV when you mounted on the wall also when you mount the TV on the wall there’s a bracket that locks the TV flat straight up and down or you can leave it at an angle it’s your option. The base is in a speaker mounted on the back of the TV , not in the stand .

QuestionI just purchased this 55inch OLED A1E and have noticed on occasion I have turned my tv off and have left the room, however upon re-entering the room, sometimes after hours, I hear a popping or cracking sound simular to what you hear when you turn the tv.?

- Answer Hi Tvbuff, The crackling or popping sound that is heard from the cabinet of the TV is part of the normal operation. When the television is turned on and off it causes the plastic around the TV to expand and contract. This expanding or contracting causes a crackling noise to be heard. QuestionI just purchased the Sony 55 inch Oled A1E. I have a situation where I have walked into the room after the TV has been off, but on occasion, I’m hearing a popping sound. This is even after it’s been off for hours. Any thoughts? Is this normal?

QuestionI see that the refresh rate is 120hz on the oled tv my question is what motionflow xr technology is this tv equipped with?? Is it the 240? Or 960?

- Answer This TV does not have a traditional "refresh rate" as it is not an LED TV. This particular set uses Sony's X1 Extreme processor that has Motionflow 960 processing in it. Suffice to say that motion on this set is FAR superior to most anything else on the market.

QuestionDoes this TV have 3D Viewing as well? I have a three year old Sony XBR 55 and realize when I got home that it had 3D as well. Just purchase this Sony OLED and I'm wondering if it too has that capability. Thanks.

QuestionDoes the optical out have a DTS/Dolby 5.1 pass through? I'm looking at a sonos play bar and it wants to use the TV optical out... which most TVs are PCM 2.0. Anyone know?

- Answer Wire can all be hidden. It depends on your cable box. Easily can be hidden. Many options. Best scenario is a tv cabinet under TV.

QuestionHow is the detail with near blacks colors like dark shadows. Models on display in several stores always seem to lose detail resulting in really dark scenes that have unnatural black colors. I find this for Sony and LG Oled tvs. can it be fixed at home?

- Answer Yes, this is adjustable at home, very easily. The OLED technology is superb at eliminating the “crushing” of black. I have always disliked store demo settings, most are about brightness, and an natural color settings. When possible, compare only exact demos in side by side situations, in the store.

QuestionDoes this TV support GPT partitioned hard drive? Looking for one that is compatible with my 4TB hard drive and it it seems the GPT/MBR formatting is not readily included with TV specifications.
