The built-in sound is remarkably good. I suggest start using the TV without a sound bar and evaluate your desires after some experience with the TV ‘as is.’ I will not be buying a sound bar.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The TV has two speakers built-in totally 30W of power. They're pretty powerful, but depending on how you mount it (eg. Wall mount or on a stand) the speakers do have some difficulty projecting the sound forward. I find that I frequently have to turn the volume up to hear quiet scenes because the speakers aim downwards, but then during loud scenes I'm reaching for the remote to turn the volume down. The speakers are really good, but I will probably end up getting a soundbar later on that's forward facing so as to reduce the number of times I have to change the volume.
