Hi Irene, Thank you for your inquiry! The XR65X90K port 1 supports High Speed USB(USB 2.0) and USB port 2 supports Super Speed USB (USB 3.2 Gen 1/USB 3.1 Gen 1/USB 3.0). You can still connect a USB 3.2 Gen 2 device to the TV using a USB 3.2 Gen 2 to USB 3.0/2.0 cable. The transfer speed will be limited to that of the USB 3.0/2.0 standard, though, and not the faster USB 3.2 Gen 2 speed. With the BRAVIA XR X90K Full Array LED TV, everything you watch becomes more detailed and immersive with true-to-life 4K picture, powered by the Cognitive Processor XR™. With immersive picture and sound, and sleek flush bezel design, be prepared to level up your favorite movies, TV shows, and games. Hope this helps! - Kris
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. In a nutshell, yes! The interface is 3.1, and that is the speed of operation max. People make the mistake of thinking that the usb will adapt " upward/ forward" from the minimum standard. This is simply not true. Its like hoping a 1 quart bottle will accept a gallon because BOYH containers hold liquid! This is the best NON tech explanation, but the result is that you cant force more volume of information than the port can accept. Therefore your external drive will onlyboperate at whatever speed your tv's usb port is. A faster drive will only be as fast as the usb port will allow. Also your usb cable must support fast data transfer rates or THAT WILL also make things worse( slow). Hopevthischelps
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I use a 3.2 gen 2 SSD/flash drive on this TV on the 3.1 gen 1 USB-A port and it doesn't feel bottleneck and its runs pretty smoothly on this TV and haven't had any problems with it so far. Also the 3.2 gen 2 SSD/flash drive that I am using is backwards compatible to 3.0 and 2.0 devices.
