It's a total of 5 years, so technically you are getting 4 from BB. The bonus is you don't have to deal with Sony. BB will take care of any issues the first year. Without it, you are at the mercy of Sony's call centers and repair techs.

Based on our telephone conversation, your TV requires service. The good news is that we may be able to do an advanced exchange for this television. We would arrange for a carrier to deliver a television to you and pick up your current television. In order to proceed, please take three pictures of the TV as follows: 1. Model/Serial # on the back of the TV showing both the entire model number and entire serial number o If the TV is wall mounted and the model and serial numbers are not accessible; a picture of the settings screen showing the model and serial numbers is acceptable. 2. Direct full view of the front of the TV showing the entire TV frame including the 4 corners of the TV 3. Close up of the issue NOTE: · TV must be turned on when pictures are taken · To avoid delays, please make sure pictures are taken in a well-lit room Please upload the pictures and if requested, a copy of your bill of sale using the link provided in the email you will receive. · Please note that we cannot receive pictures larger than 10 MB per picture. · Pictures must be received within 7 days. o If not received within 7 days, your file may be closed. Upon receipt of the pictures, the process will proceed as follows: · Within 1 business day of receipt, the pictures will be reviewed. o If there is an issue with the pictures or, if after reviewing the pictures, the exchange is not approved, we will contact you. · Within 1-2 business days of reviewing and approving the pictures, we will place the order for your replacement TV and send you a confirmation email. o Reminder: The exchange will be for a recertified TV. - The recertified unit has been through a complete re-work and inspection and, except for possible minor cosmetic flaws, returned to the original factory specifications. It is then repackaged with all of the accessories and supplied materials a new unit comes with. · The replacement TV comes with a new 2 year warranty. · When the order ships, we'll send you an email with the tracking number and the carrier information. (Note: It takes 5-7 business days from the time the order was placed for us to confirm the tracking number. We'll update you as soon as the order is processed and the tracking number is available. In the meantime, the order is on its way!) · What happens next depends on the size of the TV: o For TV's above 50 inches: · Once the order is processed, the carrier will contact you to schedule delivery of the replacement TV and pick-up of the original TV. On average, it will take 5-7 business days for the carrier to process the shipment and contact you when they're ready to schedule the delivery. · At the scheduled time, the carrier will deliver the replacement TV and pick up the original TV. · The TV may arrive in a generic box. This is to provide added protection for your Television. · NOTE: The delivery person will pick up your old TV. Please be sure your TV is ready to be placed in the shipping carton. All brackets must be removed from the TV, and the TV must also be removed the wall. Due to liability restrictions the Delivery person will not be able to assist in the removal of your TV. - Confirm the TV you are returning matches the specific model and serial number you provided when you contacted Sony about your TV that required service (Incorrect models received may result in additional charges to you) · It is recommended that you document your return tracking number to confirm the TV's return to Sony. · All accessories included with your original TV, including power cords, remote commanders, and the TV table-top stand with washers and screws must be returned to Sony with your original TV o For TV's 50 inch or less: · Signature is required upon delivery. · The carrier will attempt the delivery and if you are not home, they will leave instructions on how to coordinate the delivery with them. · When you receive the replacement TV, there will be instructions on how to repack your original television for return and a prepaid return shipping label in the box. · The TV may arrive in a generic box. This is to provide added protection for your Television. · Just fill out the label and contact the carrier to arrange pick up the original TV to return it to Sony. - Note: Use the box for the replacement TV to return the original TV. · Confirm the TV you are returning matches the specific model and serial number you provided when you contacted Sony about your TV that required service (Incorrect models received may result in additional charges to you) · It is recommended that you document your return tracking number to confirm the TV's return to Sony. · All accessories included with your original TV, including power cords, remote commanders, and the TV table-top stand with washers and screws must be returned to Sony with your original TV · Last, but not least, enjoy your replacement TV and thanks for being a Sony customer!
