• I would say it is a bulb. They are inexpensive and can be replaced in most cases very easily. Check for a You Tube video on your model on how to change bulb or refer to manual for bulb replacement. I bought a twenty five dollar replacement bulb for my 60 inch tv after 13 years and it's like brand new. Check one of the main sellers on the internet with your specific make and model of tv. You may also be able to get a specific serial number off the bulb casing. It's worth the 25 bucks to see if it works before buying a new tv.
