Hi SinGA! The Sony XBR65Z9D TV doesn't support Dolby Vision. You can check this link for more details: https://docs.sony.com/release//specs/XBR65Z9D_mksp.pdf . -Anthony
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Z9D supports Dolby Vision through built-in streaming apps AND Dolby Vision enabled streaming devices and blu-ray players ONLY when connected through HDMI ports 2 or 3 with "enhanced mode" enabled through the settings menu. Just watched Godzilla: King of Monsters in Dolby Vision on my Sony X700 4K BD player and it looks SPECTACULAR!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It’s actually a little tricky. With the update you will be able to watch in HDR Dolby but only for streaming, like Netflix or Amazon, and I think Vudu, and maybe others as well. The X1 Extreme processor does not have enough power to receive HDR Dolby from an HDMI port, you will only be able to get HDR10. So if you have a UHD 4K HDR Dolby BluRay player, which goes thru an HDMI (2 or 3) on this TV and most Sonys, at best you can get is 4K HDR10. This is not a deal breaker for me as I use my Xbox One S as my 4K BluRay player, which only handles HDR10 anyway, and I have no plans to buy a UHD 4K HDR Dolby BluRay player. If you plan on buying a 4K HDR BluRay player for another TV and want HDR Dolby out of it, make sure it specifies HDR Dolby, most are only HDR10. HDR Dolby BluRay players are relatively new and in general more expensive as well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Z9D will support Dolby Vison with a firmware update to come later in 2017. The X1 Extreme processor onboard was designed to support Dolby Vision, and all Sony models that include it will receive the update.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sony just announced that a Dolby Vision firmware upgrade will be made available for the Z9D this summer.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The TV doesn't *currently* support Dolby Vision. Sony confirmed that an OTA update will be coming to bring Dolby Vision to the Z9D set.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I believe with a firmware update, this does support Dolby Vision.
