Hi Dick, you may use all the available HDMI inputs on the A1E as they all support 4K. If you have a device that supports HDR, we recommend connecting them to HDMI ports 2 or 3. You may refer to this link for the A1E's specifications and information about its inputs and outputs: https://docs.sony.com/release//SPECS/XBR65A1E_mksp.pdf Thanks, -Mark
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Use HDMI 3 for 4K video source(s). I believe HDMI 2 is as well, but I can't find this in any documentation right now. Be sure to use an HDMI cable that supports speeds of 18 Gbps for 4K.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The apple 4k wouldn’t work for me through my Marantz av7703 in hdr mode with the Sony AE1. Only directly from Apple TV 4k to Sony ae1 using HDMI ports 2 or 3. Those are the only ports that supports hdr
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Apple 4K TV (5th Gen) supports HDMI 2.0a. HDMI ports 2 & 3 on the A1E support high speed (60 Hz) HDMI cables. You'll want to enable the high speed HDMI option for these ports within the TV's display settings and ensure you have a HDMI cable which supports at minimum HDMI 2.0a. With this you'll get 4K @ 60 Hz coming from the Apple TV. I use an Apple TV 4K connected to port 2 with high speed settings enabled and an HDMI 2.0b cable.
