- Answer Excellent. Set up is essential to create a good balance. I have this tv in my living room and watch in both bright and dark conditions. Dark viewing isnt as bright but the quality is still there. This tv is more suited for watching in a bright room but its more that capable of performing well in dark conditions as well if set up properly.

QuestionI see no difference between the Sony - 65" Class - LED - X850E Sony - 65" Class - LED - X900F Sony refers to its 4K TVs as offering "Motionflow XR 960," but in both cases, the panels only have a native refresh rate of 120 Hz. The rest is clever video

- Answer PamWigs, The Sony 900F compared to the 850E also supports Full Array Local Dimming (FALD) which has individual LED zones directly behind the TV controlling the backlighting compared to being lit around the edges. The benefit of this is higher contrast of blacks to whites increasing picture quality. The processor also bests last years' 900E with the X1 Extreme processor only found in the higher end OLED models. Lastly, this features Sony's new X-Motion Clarity which even using 120Hz native refresh rates greatly reduces the motion blur on fast moving scenes in movies and sports like Soccer or Hockey.

- Answer No it works fine with just the remote. Voice commands do not need to be used. I bought this for my elderly technology hating parents and they are using it just fine with the remote only.

- Answer Hi, NorthStar33! Unfortunately, this TV doesn't have that feature. You will have to manually open your app of choice from the Home Menu once the TV powered on. -Sam

QuestionWent in to Best Buy to see the Sony X900F and A8G, both happened to be side by side. I was disappointed to see alot of motion jutter & bad halo from both sets. The A8G also had high level of artifacts. Could it be a calibration problem or is this typical?

- Answer I don’t think there really is a technology to keep up with what these TVs can produce for quality. My 900F is looking very good with my PS4 PRO, Verizon FIOS, and any UHD BLU-RAY that I watch. I only see some discrepancy with the FIOS cable. Maybe that is because FIOS is only an actual 720P signal. Point is, at home, you won’t see any of the faults.

QuestionWatching the Mandalorian on our LG, it goes 4k HDR but it looks even better than that because our LG has some kind of Dolby 4k HDR. Anyone with this TV see that pop-up?

- Answer Sony has it and it is DOLBY Digital Plus! You have to make sure your HDMI cable is compatible. Well worth it!!!

QuestionI have a Sony XBR65X900F. I want to stream from Netflix, YouTube, etc. and use my Yamaha RX-V485 for sound. I'm using HDMI Out (ARC) on the Yamaha to HDMI 3 (ARC) on the TV. I have no sound. Am I missing something?

QuestionThe user guide says there should be almost 12" of clearance from the top of the TV to the ceiling. How important is it to maintain 12" above the TV set? What's the minimum amount of space I could safely allow? Would like to mount above fireplace.

- Answer The heat generated by the TV has to go somewhere; i.e., up, so I would absolutely recommend you allow the 12" clearance. Also make sure you mount it high enough above the top of your firebox/mantle so it doesn't get burned by the heat from the fire. Our neighbor mounted a TV only 6 inches above his, and some of the plastic started to melt.

QuestionSony Listens answered my question about the restriction on input HDMI 1 not supporting 2160p video at 60 frames/second by referring to the page in the User's Manual of the XBR-65x900F. What type of 2160p video source uses a 60 frame rate versus 30.

- Answer HDMI 1 is on the side of the TV where it is more accessible for connecting temporary devices. HDMI 2 and 3 are in the main connection area where you will connect most permanent devices. Use 2 and 3 for 4K devices.

QuestionHow does this TV fair for gamers? Overall, it seems like Samsung is tops for gaming but the X900F seems to beat Samsung everywhere else. I’m looking for a good gaming tv but also good w/ live sports and 4K HDR movies (during both day & night).

- Answer My PS4pro and XB1X look awesome and play great on this model Sony TV I find the the standard picture mode has the most accurate color scheme. Here are my settings Standard picture mode Auto picture mode “off” Light Sensor “off” Brightness Tab Brightness - 45 Contrast - 90 Gamma - 50 Black Level - 50 Adv. contrast enhancer - high Auto local dimming - medium X-tended dynamic range - high Color Tab Color - 50 Hue - 50 Color temperature - expert 1 Live color - medium Adv. color temperature - don’t mess with Clarity Tab Reality creation - auto Motion flow - custom - smoothness-4, clearness 2 CineMotion - High Video options tab 'HDR mode', HDMI video range', and 'Color space' are all best left to 'Auto
