“Currently have Sony 65” XBR-9ZD (2017 model) which is the brightest TV I ever owned for watching 4K, HDR, & Dolby Vision. Would there be any reason I should think about upgrading to the x950G series to get better quality 4K, HDR, & Dolby Vision? Thanks”

God that's a hard one. Z9d had the best backlighting system of any LED TV. That will definitely beat the 950g in terms of contrasting and blooming. 950g is going to have much more updated features lower input lag and I think a better all-around experience but you may be taking a step back in overall picture quality. Motion will be better. But contrasting will be just a bit lower than half and the z9d gets brighter. You would be better served maybe waiting maybe the Z9G if your budget allows.

Did you know that SONY has built in a feature on PS5, PS4 and the latest PS3 4.86 update to transform all 2D games to 3D Active? Just play the game on PS3, PS4 or PS5 consoles, however, connected to a SONY BRAVIA 3D Active TV, from the old models 2010 (LX900) to the most recent ones (Z9D 2016), of all models and price ranges, it doesn't have to be a top-of-the-line SONY Bravia, but it has to be a "BRAIN" SONY BRAVIA 3D TV with SIMULATE TO 3D function. SONY Bravia 3D PAssivo TVs are unable to perform the simulation effectively. SONY included a function to send METADATA of information about the frame-by-frame rendering layers of games that use 3D Graphics Computing on PS3, PS4 and PS5, and it is this Layer information that SONY Bravia 3D Active TVs use to generate 3D images Active with the same quality as 3D MASTERING, that is, it does not look like a 3D SIMULATED 3D image, but rather looks like a real 3D MASTERED image, professionally. This function is available on all PS3, PS4 and PS5 consoles, but it is necessary to be using the latest updated firmware / update of the Operating System. The TV must also be a SONY Bravia 3D "ACTIVE" with SIMULATE TO 3D function. This SONY Bravia TV must also be using the latest software available, that is, it must be updated. Most are updated by pendrive, just enter the SONY website, search for the TV model, download the update, extract the file (which will be compressed), and leave the file in the "root" of the pendrive (out of the folder). Attention, 3D Active uses original SONY Active Shutter 3D glasses, which vary according to the TV model. Older SONY Active 3D TVs use an Active 3D Transmitter built into the TV or sold separately for SONY Bravia 3D Active Ready TVs. You will never want to play 2D / 2D TV again; As I said, just connect the SONY BRAVIA 3D Active TV to a SONY PS3, SPNY PS4 or SONY PS5, and play any of the games I mentioned (games that are considered 2D / Unmastered to 3D), and then press the controller TV remote the "3D button" for the SONY Bravia 3D Active TV to perform 2D to 3D simulation, and it will recognize the encrypted METADATA information sent by SONY PS3, SONY PS4 and SONY PS5. But honestly if you are happy with your tv and can wait OLED is better just need to make sure the issues that OLED can have don’t fall in your usage of the tv and you’ll be okay. Also 8K TVs will be making a presence on the scene which allows better quality on larger “canvases”. So maybe hold off on upgrading your 2017 for a bit or spend that money and then again 2 years later it’s up to you!
