If you have a European car like my VW or Audi or something similar, you will need to wire the accessory to something that turns off with the ignition. I wired mine to one of the cigarette lighters. Just spliced into the red wire and ran a jump wire to the red wire on the back of the radio. There are other methods, but this one only cost me a few bucks for a few feet of wire.
