  • QuestionHow many HDMI ports that are 2.1

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer I have attached a jpg of Sony's current statement regarding HDMI 2.1 and the XBRX900H models (among others). Essentially 4k120, eARC, VRR and ALLM will be supported in a "future" software update. 8k60 will not be supported. I have an 85" X900H, but I don't use any of these features. So I can't tell you if the update has occurred yet. I suspect not.

  • QuestionDoes this model have mirroring capability? I have an Apple iphone. thx

    Asked by TechIT.

    • Answer Yes, it does screen mirroring; the only thing it's not good about it is you cannot do anything with your iPhone while doing screen mirroring, whenever I switched the screen or app in my iPhone I lost connection with the TV. The TV has Chromecast as well which is much better than the mirroring.

  • QuestionCan this tv hang on the wall? With 2.88 width, is there an bracket to hang this tv on the wall?

    Asked by Deezy.

    • Answer It should be able to be mounted. I see 18 results at Best Buy for one that can support a 85” tv, so one of those should work! Keep in mind that this 85” tv is about 100lbs. I went with the TV stand option which was tough because the stands on the tv were 60” apart and most tv stands are less than 60” wide/long. Another dimension that was hard to find in a tv stand was the proper depth. Just things to keep in mind with a gigantic tv! Worth it though!

  • QuestionDoes this work well with Sonos?

    Asked by GMS.

    • Answer This TV should work well with a Sonos soundbar. I have my Sony TV connected to a different brand soundbar, but I'm familiar with how to connect soundbars with TVs. I checked Sonos literature online. It looks like it says both Sonos Soundbars support an Audio Return Channel (ARC) connection. The webpage could be more clear in this regard (no wiring diagrams), but ARC is mentioned, so it's logical to suppose ARC is supported. I have the 85 inch Sony XBR-85X900H, but this should apply to any size "X900H" Sony TV. Sony designates HDMI 3 on this TV as as "ARC". You should connect an HDMI cable from the cable box (or your primary video source) to either HDMI 1, 2 or 4 on the Sony TV. Then connect a second HDMI cable between the Sony TV's HDMI 3 (ARC) jack to the HDMI jack on the Sonos soundbar. You will have two remaining HDMI inputs on the Sony TV for direct connection of two other HDMI-equipped video sources. The picture shows my connection scheme, which has video sources connected to the TV's HDMI 2 and HDMI 4 jacks. I have a soundbar connected using the Sony TV's optical digital out.

  • QuestionMy TV Stand is 59 inches by 18 inches , will this fit on my stand Thanks

    Asked by campguy.

    • Answer Hi Campguy, we appreciate your interest in the XBR85X900H. The width or the distance between the TV stand is approximately 60 1/8 inches (1,527 mm) wide and 17 3/8 inches (441 mm) deep. You can use any table stand that can adequately support the weight of the TV (105.1 lb (47.7 kg)) and that the TV stand should not protrude out from the table stand. I hope this helps! Thanks. -Jess
