“What is with the zoom on this camera? It's almost non existent. My old Sony had a 20x Optical Zoom. I bought this camera to take pictures of birds and scenery. This zoom is ridiculous. Unless I'm doing something wrong, it's going back.”

If you're taking wildlife photography, you more than likely don't want to be using the 16-55mm lens. I would like at the 100mm lenses as a starting point, preferably something with a lower f-stop. I've accomplished some great wildlife shot using the 16-55mm but, the zoom is limited. That's on any camera with this lens

The lens that comes with the camera is a kit lens and only has a focal length of 16-50mm. However, you can purchase a larger zoom range lens to be used with the camera.
