Connection should be pretty straight forward. One plug into an electrical outlet for power, the other is the subwoofer audio cable. The subwoofer will show a green light on top if powered on. Make sure you have the subwoofer cable plugged into the proper "out" location on the reciever. Run a speaker test through the reciever menu to check for sound. A few other things I'd check are volume/ gain, cutoff knobs on back of sub... try another cable, are other speakers working... Also some recievers have like a power saving mode where if there is no bass in the scene ( dialogue only with no action) the subwoofer stays off, but should turn on before a bass moment like an explosion or music or something.. I guess it's an energy saver? Can be turned off through the menus I think. I hope this helped in some way. Stay safe. Oh, I have a sony dh750 and a dn 860, each has their own subwoofer, different rooms different setups.
