No, I do not recommend this camera for low light and action shots. My experience has been more blurry than non-blurry for those kinds of shots. This camera is better for objects that are not moving. I had an old Canon PowerShot with 10x optical zoom that took better action photos than this camera. The Canon has an action mode, the Sony does not. I tried different settings on the Sony H400, but didn't help a whole lot. I have not tried action shots with a tripod. That might help.
