Hi earlthepearl! Thank you for your great question. Sony CRE-E10 OTC hearing aids are rechargeable devices using a lithium-ion battery. Disposable hearing aid batteries cannot be used in this model. Our Sony CRE-C10 OTC hearing aids utilize a size 10 hearing aid battery. These are a great option if you are wanting Hearing Aids that use replaceable batteries! Regards, Erin
