A couple of factors that you left out. What type of shots do you want to capture? How far are you from the action? Are you looking for depth of field or freeze action? The new Sony's have a great ISO range. You can afford to go to a higher ISO to get more sharpness and a faster shutter. The A7iii is a nice camera, but it doesn't track focus as well as the A9. The A9 is a great sports camera while I like the A7iii for video and photos where I don't have to rely on autofocus. The Sony G series lens are a little more expensive, but they are perhaps the best lens for the money. I have lenses that go down to a f1.4, but I try and shoot at a f5.6. I only go to a f1.4 or f2.8 if I want to make the background soft. I have a Sony G series 70 to 200 f4. The f2.8 is a lot more expensive. It tracks well and is very sharp. I also have the Sony G series 24 to 105 f2.8 and this is my standard lens. If you have doubts, try and rent a lens and see what works best for you. https://www.borrowlenses.com is a great place to rent photo-gear.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Well there are lots of options, I think you will like the 70-180 for the tighter reach also the 2.8 is a faster lens for action. I use my 70-200 2.8 for action but that thing is stupid money. The 70-180 is a good value. The 24-105 is great glass, I like the steady shot as well as a wide view to portrait. So there you go I hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.i also have a7iii and the 24-105 is a great lens, but the one to get is like the Sony - 70-200mm f/4 G E-Mount Telephoto Zoom Lens or the f2.8 it is made for sports and does so much better when panning the shot ,it has a switch to put it into panning mode and that helps the camera get the best shot
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Both would work great. But it depends how far your sitting from the action. The zoom is something to consider. I love my 24-105 f4
