A:AnswerHi ElChapo, Thank you for your inquiry! Currently the HT-A7000 supports HDMI 2.1 specifications with the exception of VRR and ALLM at this time. It can pass through visual and audio content up to 4K 120p / 8K. There are 2 specific features (Variable Refresh Rate and Auto-Low Latency Mode) that comes with HDMI 2.1. Currently not yet available at this time on our Sound Bars.
If your TV supports the VRR feature, we recommend having the PlayStation 5 connected to your TV and have the TV output the audio to the HT-A7000.

A:AnswerYou use a 3.5mm jack that comes with the soundbar. However, dont pair this with a Sony XR A80K tv. I have to return mine because in this setup, it causes static. Sony is aware of this common defect and continues to sell them.

A:AnswerUnfortunately you can’t use the HT-A7000 with a receiver. The sound bar will only work with the optional speakers sold separately. Only other devices compatible would be gaming systems or Blu ray players all using the HDMI pass through.
A:AnswerHi Ping, Thank you for your inquiry! If your Blu-ray Player supports HDMI connection, yes you can! listen to the sound of an AV device such as Blu-ray Player with the speaker system by connecting the speaker system and AV device with an HDMI cable. Otherwise, you may need to connect the Blu-ray player to your TV and connect the TV's HDMI ARC to the ARC/eARC port of the HTA7000.
Also, please note that if a TV is compatible with eARC, you can also output the high-quality sound by connecting an AV device to the HDMI IN jack on the TV. In this case, enable the eARC function of the TV.

I hope this helps!

A:AnswerHi DCSonyXBRFan,
Thanks for your inquiry. Unfortunately, the HT-A7000 soundar cannot be used in conjunction with older Sony wireless subwoofers. An optional 200W wireless subwoofer (SASW3) or 300W wireless subwoofer (SASW5) is recommended for even deeper bass. Having two types of subwoofer allows the built-in subwoofer in the HT-A7000 to handle bass and vocals with the optional wireless subwoofer focusing on low-range sound.
Regards,
Jess
A:AnswerHi Otto,
Thanks for your interest in our HT-A7000 7.1.2ch Dolby Atmos® Soundbar. For optimal performance, when putting the soundbar on a stand, make sure there are no obstacles at each end so that sound directed to the sides is not obstructed. The Beam tweeters of this unit bounce off the side walls and expand surround sound to give you an immersive experience that goes beyond your TV.
The HT-A7000 has 7.1.2 channels, two up-firing speakers for overhead sound, two beam tweeters and five front speakers for wider surround and a built-in dual subwoofer for deep bass. With Vertical Surround Engine and S-Force PRO Front Surround, HT-A7000 creates virtual surround sound that comes from all around you so you can fully enjoy the thrill of Dolby Atmos® and DTS:X®.
Regards,
Jess
A:AnswerHi Ale,
Thank you for your inquiry! HT-A7000 will not be compatible with BRAVIA Connect app.
The compatible Soundbars and Home Theatre Systems for the Sony BRAVIA Connect app are limited to the following models: BRAVIA Theatre Bar 8 (HT-A8000), BRAVIA Theatre Bar 9 (HT-A9000), BRAVIA Theatre Quad (HT-A9M2), HT-AX7, and HT-S2000. Rest assured, we have taken your comments into account and have already forwarded them to the relevant team for further consideration. Your input is invaluable to us, and we’re committed to continuously enhancing your experience.

Jess
A:AnswerHi Alex,
Thanks for reaching out to us with your concerns. You can operate the unit without the remote using the physical buttons to turn the system on/off, select the input for playback, control the volume, resume playback on Spotify with Music service button, and listen to music/sound with the Bluetooth function. Unfortunately, you will need to have the bundled remote control (RMTAH509U) of your soundbar to access the settings and make changes. We cannot guarantee the full operation and functionality of any third-party remote control.
Additional info:
Connecting a TV compatible with the Control for HDMI function using an HDMI cable enables you to interlock the speaker system operation such as power on/off, volume adjustment, and easily operate the device with the TV remote control. You can also operate the menu of the speaker system by selecting the name of the speaker system when changing input or operating the Sync Menu on the TV.
We also suggest visiting Sony Parts and Accessories Sales to purchase a replacement remote control for your soundbar. Should you need further help, please contact us for assistance.
I hope this helps!
Regards,
Jess
A:AnswerHi Alex, Thank you so much for your inquiry!
The HT-A7000 and HT-A5000 soundbars have different features that contribute to their sound experiences. The HT-A7000 includes the "Immersive Audio Enhancement" (IMMERSIVE AE) feature, which allows you to feel immersed by the sound from not only the horizontal direction but also from the upward direction. This feature works effectively with various sound modes and can be activated or deactivated using the IMMERSIVE AE button on the remote control.
On the other hand, the HT-A5000 uses the "Sound Field" feature, which can be activated by pressing the SOUND FIELD button on the remote control. This feature enhances the surround sound experience by up-mixing audio signals to output sound from all speakers.
While both features aim to enhance the surround sound experience, the Immersive Audio Enhancement in the HT-A7000 specifically focuses on creating a more three-dimensional sound experience by incorporating upward sound directions, whereas the Sound Field feature in the HT-A5000 enhances the surround effect by utilizing all available speakers.
In summary, the Immersive Audio Enhancement (IMMERSIVE AE) feature of the HT-A7000 is not the same as the Sound Field feature of the HT-A5000. The HT-A7000's IMMERSIVE AE provides a more immersive experience by adding vertical sound dimensions, while the HT-A5000's Sound Field feature enhances the surround sound using all speakers.
I hope this helps!
Regards,
Carl
A:AnswerHi Al,
Thank you for reaching out to us. We're sorry to hear the trouble that you are experiencing with your HTA7000 soundbar when connected to your A90K TV. Allow us to help troubleshoot the problem.
If the volume level shows a different value for the TV and the Soundbar:
There is a difference in the way the volume value of the Soundbar and the connected TV is displayed, and the difference in the values can be seen when:
You turn on the BRAVIA Sync/Control for HDMI setting.
You switch the Speaker Output setting of the TV from TV speakers to Audio System.
For example, because the TV is designed to display the volume in a range from 0 to 100db, and the Soundbar displays the volume in a range from 0 to 50db, when the TV shows 40 the Soundbar will show 20. This is normal and not a malfunction.
Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot if the sound or volume is low on your HT-A7000 soundbar:
Increase the volume of the Soundbar using the remote control.
Increase the volume of the output device, such as a TV or audio device.
Make sure that the soundbar is not muted and connected properly on your TV. You may also need to adjust the audio output settings on your TV to HDMI ARC/eARC.
Try calibrating the soundbar using the sound field optimization feature. This will ensure that the sound is properly balanced for your room.
Turn off the Night Mode setting.
Ensure that the software of your soundbar is updated as it includes key features, applications, bug fixes, and feature improvements.
If the speaker system still does not operate properly, reset the speaker system.
