  • QuestionI'm trying to decide which would portable speaker has the best sound - looking at Sony, Beats and JBL Flip - which one is the best? I just want to hear my music with out static while I'm out :)

    Asked by MusicLover.

    • Answer I compared all of those options and chose the Sony. It sounded better than jbl and beats and as good as the bose. It was also half the price as the bose and had a longer battery life. I chose the Sony and have been very happy with my decision.

  • Questioncan you pair these speakers

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer YES YOU CAN! ... And boy do they sound incredible when you do! - The Sony SRS-XB2(3) speakers have the ability to be "paired" together with each other (2 speakers required) utilizing the built-in "Speaker Add Function" that allows 2 of these speakers to communicate with each other using a discreet Bluetooth signal generated by the speaker itself. The speakers can then be set to separate a stereo signal into right and left channels for "True" stereo sound. (NOTE: This only works when you have a device (tablet, smart phone, Bluetooth enabled MP3 player) that is sending the initial speaker a Bluetooth signal that is in stereo to begin with).

  • QuestionWhat is a "Stereo experience? What is a "Stereo experience" on a device with one speaker?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Well this device has 2 speakers but they are so close to each other that really doesn't give a real stereo sound,in all honestly there is no Bluetooth speakers currently that provides a real stereo experience,if you want that you have to go with a full audio system with individual speakers for highs, mids and lows and a subwoofer, this portable Bluetooth speakers are made for on the go and for that purpose they are great especially this Sony Bluetooth speaker.

  • Questionwill this plug in back of my tv &play music

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer YES it will, if your TV has a 3.5 mm stereo, "Audio Out" port, and you get a 3.5 mm stereo patch cord to be used between the TV and the speaker. Even if your TV does not have a 3.5 mm stereo, "Audio Out" port/receptacle you may still be able to get an adapter cord that has (male) right and left channel RCA type connectors (commonly used on TVs for decades now) that feed into a single 3.5 mm, male, stereo plug that will then plug into the back of a Sony SRS-XB2 portable Bluetooth speaker.

  • QuestionHow does the sound of the Sony compare with the sound from the Bose Soundlink?

    Asked by GSC.

    • Answer In my experience (having owned both), the SRS-XB2 produces much crisper, clearer tones, provides a more distinct bass, and produces a much louder sound without distorting audio.

  • QuestionDo you need two of these speakers for good sound? Or are these designed as a stand alone?

    Asked by bobby.

    • Answer This speaker works great as a stand alone. The tone is rich with great clarity. Although I am certain that dual speakers may produce more surround effects the single speaker delivers a great range and depth of sound.

  • Questionmaximum charges (battery life) - also, can the battery be replaced?

    Asked by Wolfgang.

    • Answer Here's my Battery Life / Play-Time experience after 4 months of use : My experience has been that the least "full-charge" play-time that you can get out of one of these speakers is somewhere between 13 to 16 hours. I've been giving my speakers a full (maximum) 4 hour charge AFTER fully discharging them, and I plan on giving them at least 10 FULL charge/discharge cycles before I ever "short-charge" them "on-the-fly". - Follow the instructions and charge the speaker(s) right-out-of-the-box! - NO MORE THAN 4 HOURS EVER. - The charging indicator light should always shut off in 2 to 3 hours of charging. - I got over 19 hours of play-time out of the first charge on one speaker and over 17 hours on the second one. = YOUR RESULTS MAY VARY depending on: your charging discipline, volume level usage and other environmental factors like heat and humidity, etc., etc., etc. --> NOTE: NEVER over-charge a Lithium-ion/Li-ion hybrid battery. Unplug it within 1 to 2 hours (max.) after it is fully charged. AND, ALWAYS try to fully charge and discharge your battery, "full" cycles ARE important. If you ever have to store your device with a Lithium-ion battery for more than a couple of weeks, make sure you put it away fully charged. ... Once a Li-ion battery fully loses its charge and ends up sitting fully discharged for more than a couple of weeks, it may very well die completely or may never be able to be fully charged again. I AM fully expecting that these batteries should be able to be "fully" cycled (charged/discharged) AT LEAST 100 to 150 times, and they may be able to be made to last up to 300 cycles before they finally fail outright. ... Again, your charging discipline, from the initial use is key to the batteries' actual longevity. - AND, NO the batteries contained in these speakers are NOT intended to be replaced by the consumer/owner. ... However, from my own experience with Sony Consumer Products Service and Repair, I'd be willing to bet that Sony Service Centers, in America, will be able to replace the batteries in these speakers for many years to come. The "down-side" reality is that this type of service will, most likely, cost a fair bit more than you ever paid for the speaker to begin with.

  • QuestionThis speaker worked great with my old iphone, but I bought a new iphone and can't get it to sink with my new phone. Will it only sink with wit 1 device? How can I get it to sink with the new one? thanks - Heather

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer If you can disconnect it from your old device, that would free it for new connection. Otherwise, hold down the Bluetooth icon and when it is blinking, I believe that means it is free to connect to a device. Go to your new device, make sure the speaker is discoverable, look for the speaker name on your list and connect it. Hope this helps.

  • QuestionIf my iPhone is linked via Bluetooth will speakers also ring loud when called & will music stop and allow speakerphone function ? Thanks

    Asked by Lefthalf.

    • Answer Yes. As long as your phone is not in silent mode, the speaker will ring just as your phone would during and incoming call. The speaker itself has a speakerphone function and includes a built in microphone. It can be activated with the speakerphone button on the device itself, or through Siri on an iPhone.

AND, I'm not playing them at ear-splitting volume levels. - They sound great when played just loud enough to fill the space in which you are using them.
