I agree that this sub is very expensive. I purchased it in a package and received about a 200 discount. I have not yet set it up, but it sounds incredible in the cavernous Best Buy store and will be great in my family room. When you buy Sony, you buy the best.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Don’t buy it then. Plenty of other brands out there. The sound bar alone is 1300 bucks so if you can buy it then a 700 dollar sub shouldn’t be nothing.

That said; the SASW5's price really doesn't stray from that of any other quality subwoofer in this size, ...and it is a quality unit. With the addition of wireless hookup, and integrated room adjustment/balancing. I'm a bit of an audiophile, and the Sony SASW5 - IMO - ranks with some of the best sub units I've heard, and it meshes perfectly with Sony's HT-A9/A7000/A5000 Soundbars systems bringing the whole system to life, as good subwoofers should do. I listen to audio streaming via BT as well as TV & movies, and all is excellent. Considering the quality and the hours of enjoyment it adds to your sound system, would say the SASW5 is not so unreasonably priced. FYI - there is a less expensive wireless subwoofer option for HT-A9/A7000/A5000 Soundbars, the the SA-SW3.
