It cannot be paired with the XB3, however it can be paired with an xb 20 30 or 40, which it the previous series to this one but the xb3 and 2 are two generations behind.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The XB31 and XB3 speakers can be paired in party mode, L+R mono. If you're looking to pair two for stereo I believe they have to be the same model of speaker, my XB31 and XB3 speakers will not pair in stereo, one left and one right channel. I suspect the XB31 was intended as a successor to the XB3, like an XB3 with a built in light show. In my opinion though, the XB31 falls a bit short on sound quality, I always choose the XB3 for sound quality for music. I just wish I'd bought two XB3's for stereo.

Please try again later.i dont think it can because i dont think the XB3 is WPC enabled but you can connect the Xb30 and Xb31 together via WPC and on the XB30 by pressing and holding down the add and the plus button at the same time and then go to the app to pair them be mindful though that it is way easier to do this method as the XB31 as the master speaker and not the XB30
