- Answer The speaker connections are made to accept bare speaker wire without a plug or end. If you can remove the plugs from your speaker wires you could probably use them.

QuestionThe specs on my old school American Acoustic speakers read 4/8 impedance, 39Hz - 22KHz response frequency, 116 RMS / 232 watts peak power. Will these work with this receiver?

- Answer There actually isn't a 4/8 impedance, as the speakers are rated either 4 ohm or 8 ohm; however, this is only really shorthand for showing how low a speaker dips at peak because a 4 ohm speaker is actually rarely at 4 ohm while playing. I'll assume the speakers about which you are asking are rated 4 ohm, so to answer your question, if you are only using two speakers than you are going to be fine. This amplifier is capable of running 4 speakers at once A+B, so 4 8 ohm speakers would cause a 4 ohm load. That is why they don't rate this amp for 4 ohm speakers because if someone were to run 4 4 ohm speakers synchronously it would effectively be a 2 ohm load which would likely cause the unit problems. If you are only running two 4 ohm speakers, you will be fine. Hope this helps.

Yes, you can up to 4 speakers to the unit, but, it is not recommended since this receiver is a 2.0 channel system and you can only utilize it by connecting the left and right channel speakers. We suggest checking out other Sony receivers such as the STRDH590, STRDH790, and STRDN1080 models to connect your front, rear, and center speakers. Hope this helps! -Sam

- Answer Hi, An equalizer needs to be connected to the tape monitor loop on an AV receiver in order to operate. The current line of Sony receivers do not have a tape monitor loop. For this reason, it is not possible to connect an add-on equalizer to current Sony AV receivers. ~Ralph

- Answer Hi Ronba, The serial number of the STRDH190 should start with S0 then followed by a dash (-) then a 7 digit number. With regards to the Standby light, it cannot be turned off unless the unit is unplugged from the wall outlet. For additional information, the power consumption of the AV receiver when on standby is only 0.3w. Hope this helps! Regards, Sam

QuestionWhat items are needed when purchasing a record player?

- Answer Not sure of your question but will attemp to answer. If you are asking what items should you buy to use with a record player. I would buy a stylis brush, record cleaning brush and zerostat. The zerostat simply removes static from records that build up from all kinds of things including touch. Many do not know this but simply running water over record surface not center paper emble removes static very good and if handled and stored correctly lasts a long time. You can purchase these thing as time goes by. Of course wipe record dry be careful not to touch record surface with fingers, use edges n center of record to handle. If asking what equipment do I need to operate record player. You’ll need a receiver with phono input and basic cable with red and white connections on each end to hook turntable, record player to receiver, usually there is a ground wire on turntable that hooks to ground terminal on reciever also. This will come on turntable if equipped if not it’s not needed.

QuestionCan I use multiple wireless speakers with this receiver? I would also like to hook our TV and the speakers built into our cabinet when we are watching television as well as a subwoofer. We use spotify and wondering if that is supported as well.

- Answer Hi Jen, It doesn't support wireless speakers. It also doesn't have a subwoofer connection and doesn't support Spotify. The receiver can support speakers with an impedance of 6-16ohms and can be connected to a TV. - Answer This is the amp. That is why I bought it. To replace an old vintage amp/receiver and simplify my everyday system with an inexpensive alternative. And for the phono input, of course. No HDMI so it's not really a home theater replacement. But home theaters are overrated for everyday use.
