Hi Pam, the UBPX800 is capable of playing native 4K discs and supports HDR. It will work great with your 930D. The BDPS6700 only upscales content to near 4k quality and does not provide HDR support. Thanks, -Mark

You should go to the Sony website to read the overview of the UBP-X800. Basically, all audio and video capabilities are upgraded to the current home entertainment standard which is also supported by your new XBR65X930D. You'll also notice that Sony no longer supports popular Apps, like YouTube, Amazon, Hulu, Netflix, Playstation NOW, and etc., on their new Blu-ray players, like the UBP-X800. These apps are now supported on their new Android TV's, like the one you have. I expect all TV manufacturers will follow suit since good apps, especially 4K streaming apps, will sell their 4K HDR TV's. You'll marvel at watching 4K content from YouTube, Netflix, Amazon, and Sony Playstation movies on your new Sony Android TV. You'll buy the Sony UBP-X800 to watch 4K UltraHD HDR movies as it supports reading these new discs. You'll buy the Sony BDP-S6700 to use the legacy apps which aren't supported on the new Sony Blu-ray players and/or play Playstation NOW which is also no longer supported. Bottom line: you'll need the UBP-X800 to watch 4K movie discs on your new Sony TV. Oh BTW, the UBP-X800 supports Bluetooth for headphones, keyboards, and mice. The BDP-6700 doesn't support BT. Lastly, the UBP-X800 doesn't have an LED display, just a blue ON/OFF idiot light. The BDP-S6700 has a small LED display (which no one could read anyway). BTW, you may have to connect the UBP-X800 directly to the HDMI #2 on your XBR65X930D TV (HDMI #3 ARC on your TV should be connected to your TV output on your Bose T20 for audio return purposes). I have a Bose Home theater system as well. I can't get the Sony Bravia features to pass-through my Bose Lifestyle V25 system. Maybe your Bose Lifestyle T20 system allows for Bravia support, I don't know. Setting up the UBP-X800 and your Sony TV for Bravia support will allow you to turn everything "Bravia" on or off with one remote.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The x800 is a UHD/4K player and the S6700 is a BluRay player that -upscales- to 4K (it will NOT play 4K native discs). If you have any interest in taking advantage of the 4K/HDR capabilities of your television, you need a DVD player that supports it as well (as well as a quality, certificed HDMI cable to connect them). The S6700 doesn't support the high quality capabilities of your TV.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Advantages of the x800 over the s6700: -Separate video and audio outputs for maximum picture and sound quality -Plays 4k discs (s6700 does not) -Streams in 4k for applicable apps -Supports more audio and video formats for personal media playback -Offers HDR to SDR conversion if you do not have an HDR capable 4k tv -Supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X -Comes with 2 free movies -Has Hi-Res audio support
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Pam, the difference is in the quality of the picture, the UBP-X800 is a native 4K player meaning that it isn't upscaling to get an almost perfect picture on a 4K tv. Ultimately it will make very little difference in the end.
