• You can use both ethernet and wifi. Purchase a 20ft, ethernet cord.

• Hi, TheoKings! If you're just playing Blurays and DVDs on this unit then you don't need to have an internet connection. But, if you want to stream apps like Netflix or Amazon, then you will have to connect the unit via Ethernet cable. -Sam
