You can certainly skip the Wi-Fi setup or, if you have already set it up, you can go back in to Settings>Network and delete your Wi-Fi credentials. BUT, doing so ensures your player's obsolescence. As new feature-rich BluRay movies are released, they sometimes require a software update to the player's firmware before all of the disc's features will function. Enabling the player's on-line connection will ensure updated firmware can be downloaded and installed as new disc features are released. I often field questions from owners of older "off-line" BluRay players when a new release movie won't play.
