Supported video formats: AVI (Xvid only, *see workaround for DivX below), MKV, MP4, MPG, MPEG, M4V, FLV, F4V, MOV, WMV, ASF, 3GP, 3G2, 3GPP, 3GP2, MTS and M2TS. This player (Sony BDP-S3700) can also play both DivX and XviD encoded files, but ONLY when these two specific conditions are fulfilled: 1) The file type has to be *.AVI 2) The FourCC code within the file has to be set as "XVID". Therefore, this player won't be able to play back any DivX -encoded AVI -files, when FourCC code is either "DIVX", "DIV3", "DIV4" or "DX50". To know which FourCC code your file has, it can be easily viewed using free app, such as "MediaInfo". This FourCC code can be changed in few seconds using a free app, such as "FourCC Code Changer", which changes only the FourCC code, but will leave the file otherwise intact. And good to know that you of course cannot change the file FourCC code, if the file is already on a closed DVD or BD. PLUS: Divx™ VOD requires a device specific paid license, playing back DivX™ VOD -files will not be possible even with this workaround.
