• Don't loose the remote! If you do no blu-ray disc for you! I did loose mine and went on ebay and got a 2-pack relatively cheaply....the second remote works with my older Sony unit that does have play/stop buttons on it.

• Not to contradict anyone trying to help, but the player itself has no buttons beyond power and eject. Without the supplied remote, or buying a universal or programmable remote, you can't operate the unit beyond powering and loading a disc.
