• I do not recommend trying to record someone as it could get you in a lot of trouble depending on how sensitive the information is, but if it is in self defense, there is indeed a setting to turn off beeping.

• In Texas, as long as 1 person on the call knows it is being recorded, you are legal. 38 states have this 1 person rule too.
