  • QuestionWill these completely block out the sound of my husband’s snoring?

    Asked by Mochia.

    • Answer Hi Mochia, Thank you so much for your question! These noise canceling headphones feature additional microphones that assist in isolating sound for a reduction of even more high and mid frequency sounds. These should be quite effective in reducing the sound of snoring, especially when accompanied by audio playback while the noise cancellation features are activated. Additional information: Noise cancellation works best when the ambient sound around you is constant and around the low to medium pitch range. Bass is regarded as a low-pitched sound, whereas treble is a high-pitched sound. So, if the snoring is steady, you may experience significant reduction in volume. The noise canceling function is effective in low frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices. Regards, Jess

  • QuestionWhen you are on a call, in a very noisy situation (kids sports event), will the person you are speaking with hear the background noise (shouting, cheering, buzzers, etc)?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Hi there! Thank you so much for your inquiry. The noise canceling function of our WH-100XM4 is effective in low-frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices. The XM4 provides superior call quality with precise voice pickup quality- which combines five built-in microphones with advanced audio signal processing to deliver clearer voice quality to the other person on the phone when connected to a smartphone or mobile phone that supports the Bluetooth profile HFP (Hands-free Profile) or HSP (Headset Profile). However, your voice will be heard from the headset through the headset’s microphone (Sidetone function). In this case, ambient sounds or the sounds of the headset operation may be heard through the headset. I hope you find this information to be helpful! - Romeo

  • QuestionWill this work with Sony bravia TV?

    Asked by P.

    • Answer It will depend on which model TV and what the purpose is, however I can confirm a few things for you: Yes, it can connect via bluetooth to a Sony Bravia X950G TV, however you will need to play with the settings to get the audio to sync up more closely to the video. This is fine for something like TV/movie watching, however for gaming the sync will create a noticeable delay and your controller inputs would be off.

  • QuestionWhen it comes to sound quality, is it better than xm3? Or is it about the same?

    Asked by Coldturkey.

    • Answer Hi Coldturkey, Thank you so much for your interest in our newest Industry Leading Noise Canceling Overhead Headphones WH1000XM4! There have been some great upgrades to the WH1000XM4 from the WH1000XM3. The WH1000XM4 utilizes DSEE Extreme (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine) which upscales compressed digital music files in real-time. Dynamically recognizing the instrumentation, musical genres, and individual elements of each song, such as vocals or interludes, it restores the high-range sound lost in compression for a richer, more complete listening experience. Also, the WH1000XM4 features smart listening technology to enhance your listening. With this, you can simply start speaking to automatically pause your music in Speak-to-Chat, or enjoy adaptive playback thanks to the proximity sensor and two acceleration sensors that detect whether your headphones are being worn or not. Finally, we also gently adjusted the design of the headphones. We added more cushioning to the headband and ear padding. We also changed the outside dimensions of the headphones slightly so they sit more comfortably over your head. For more information about the headphones, you may refer to this link: https://www.sony.com/electronics/headband-headphones/wh-1000xm4 Hope this helps, ~Ralph

  • QuestionIs this XM4 Headphone compatible with a Roku Pro 55” tv? I’ve tried a number of headphones but they all require an “Out” jack on the back of the tv. This year old Roku Pro series 55” does not have an Out jack.

    Asked by Chip.

    • Answer Hi Chip, thank you for your question! The Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones are designed to connect to devices wirelessly using Bluetooth. For high-quality audio streaming, they also require the A2DP Bluetooth profile, so if your television meets this requirements you will be able to use the headphones without a physical "out" jack. We hope this answers your question, and thank you for considering Sony products! Best regards, Dominick

  • QuestionCan the headphones be worn with hearing aids

    Asked by BT.

    • Answer Hi BT! Thank you for reaching out with your question. We can certainly help you with that. Yes, it is possible to wear our WH-1000XM4 headphones with hearing aids. The over-ear design of these headphones often works well for this purpose, as they cover the entire ear and can fit comfortably around most hearing aid styles. However, your experience may vary depending on the specific type of hearing aid you have. The key to a good experience is ensuring the headphones' earcups don't put too much pressure on your hearing aids, as this can sometimes cause audio feedback. We recommend trying on the headphones to see how they feel and sound with your specific hearing aids. We sincerely hope this information is helpful to you. Thanks for considering Sony products! Best regards, Estefany

  • QuestionMy TV dsen't have blue tooth, can I still use this head phone wireless?

    Asked by Bob.

    • Answer Hi Bob, thanks for contacting Sony. If your TV lacks built-in Bluetooth functionality, connecting headphones wirelessly may not be possible. However, you can explore an alternative solution by using a transmitter that connects to the optical port on your TV. Once the transmitter is set up, you can pair your headphones with it, allowing for wireless audio playback. To ensure compatibility, please check your TV's specifications to confirm whether it has an optical port and if it can be connected to a wireless transmitter.
