When you take the headphones off make sure you power it down beforehand. while removing the headphones will automatically pause the music they do not power off on their own.

You can follow these steps: -Download the update software from the server to the smartphone on which the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app is installed. -Transfer the update software from the smartphone to the headset. -Update the headset software following the on-screen instructions. The usage time varies depending on the setting or how they are used. To conserve battery life, turn off the DSEE HX Auto or Equalizer setting on the Sony | Headphones Connect app. Please take note that the available battery life significantly decreases when these settings are used at the same time. If the issue persists, please initialize the headset by pressing and holding the (power) button and the CUSTOM button simultaneously for 7 seconds or more while the headset is turned off and disconnected from the power source.
