I think you mean the mdr1000xs. There are a lot of differences: 1. Price 2. Features: MDR1000x is lighter and has a good depth of noise cancellation. The controls are touch based on the headphone. The MDRXB950 has button based ones. 3. Bass: XB950 has an authentic deep bass. The MDRx1000 is more or less like an average headphone that emphasizes tunes of every frequency. Kind of like a flat based EQ on it.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.the only difference is on the more expensive one it has a little better sound quality and bass and noise cancellation but i think you should get the sony mdr-xb950n1 i have this and it is the best pair of headphones i have ever had i would get that
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have both. The difference is sound quality. Neither is bad, just different--and they excel in their respective differences among other comparable models. The MDRs would be considered the most balanced-sounding, no adjustments needed and thus good for all music genres. The XBs are bass-heavy (though adjustable via app), so more ideal for hip-hop/r&b/pop genres. Their feature differences are self-explanatory. I got both for difference purposes. The MDRs for general use, the XBs for active/gym use.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I personally feel the noise cancellation on the mdr1000x is far superior. I don't own those myself but just from testing them in store it was much better than the NC on these. These headphones are very good if you love bass. Right out the box without adjusting anything it already has a good amount of bass but you can take it to an extreme with the bass boost. Also the mdr1000x has fewer buttons, more touch controls on the earcups by sliding finger across. Realistically I don't think you can go wrong either way both a good pair of headphones.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.MDR 1000x is a 1000 times better when it comes to noice canceling. I bought these and returned them after 2 days to exchange them for MDR1000X. However MDR 1000x is not as heavy on the base, which I personally like. Sound wise they are great but for NC they suck.
