• Yes, you can accept gift cards with a Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover logo as long as the transaction price does not exceed the balance of the gift card.

• The large blue tooth ready only takes chip card, while the smaller strip reader reads magnetic strips. That being said, the gift card likely needs to be Visa/ MasterCard to work with it. So, visa gift cards outback work, but I haven't tested.
