“How are tips handled? Is the tip just added to the total of the sale and will need to be taken out of the deposit the next day or is is recorded a different way and separated out? We currently accept cash and check at the coffee shop.”

Tips are transferred along with your Sales but you would have a tips report that would help you identify how much out of that specific transfer belong to tips. You can learn more about accepting tips with Square here: http://squ.re/qrtips

Please try again later.After tap swipe or dip card, print receipt, when customer gives the amount for the tip, enter the tip, click on transactions on the bottom of the screen and print a receipt with the tip on it. Your info from Square shows the tip separately. the amount before the tip and the total amount charged.
