Yes you do. The plastic slides also attach on the sides of the dryer bottom. Just leave the bracket loose on the back only screw the screws a little. I had to bend mine on the floor just a tad. Pushed on it and bent it over just a smidge. Also make sure you are using the correct pair of brackets., they send you two styles, slightly different holes.

The SK-5A stacking kit instructions do call for removing all four legs from the dryer before stacking on top of the washer. When attaching the brackets on the back of the units, I would recommend installing the dryer screws first, but only part-way, then the washer next, before tightening all screws. It may be necessary to have someone lift the dryer just a bit in order to align the screws in the washer holes. This is normal. Once the weight of the dryer is resting on the washer, the tension created by this alignment helps to stabilize the stacked units. - Ms. Samsung
