• A:Answer Because you may have to go into display settings and choose the new display. Other than that your tv may need the whole converter box. Analog to Digital to 4k may not be supported by this piece. I used a vga to something called display port.

• A:Answer Maybe. This converter is designed to connect a computer with an HDMI port with a display that uses VGA. It is not designed to connect a VGA computer to an HDMI TV. You need a different converter for that.
