QuestionWill I be able to recover data from a 2.5 inch PC laptop SATA HDD with this product? My laptop will no longer power up and I have many files to recover unfortunately.

- Answer Yes, you will have no problem transferring files. I used it to update my HDD storage drive to an SSD. I know the process to clone the drive is more complicated but if your just want to transfer the files using this makes your old drive no different than an external hard drive.

- Answer Sure, but I believe you must have a 3.0 USB port in your laptop, so that it can power the external hdd or ssd, those 3.0 USB ports are easily recognizable by their blue color. There is also a USB type C cable which would also get the job done if you have those ports.

- Answer The USB3S2SAT3CB is designed to work with any 2.5" hard drive or solid state drive as long as the drive does not require more than 5V at 0.9A (USB 3.0) or 5V at 0.5A (USB 2.0). Please confirm with the hard drive manufacturer for the power requirements. Brandon, StarTech.com Support
