“Is this better than the Arctis 5? Like what is the difference between the 7's & the 5's? I'm trying to buy one but cannot make up my mind on which one will be better for gaming or to use as actual headphones when i watch a movie on my phone, Xbox, or PC”

As far as which is better, it depends on what you are willing to trade off. Both headsets are virtually identical as far as sound and function. I believe the Arctis 5 mic. has a higher frequency of 22000Hz vs. the Arctis 7 20000Hz. The higher frequency has a better response to clear and crisp treble. I have the Arctis 7 and I do not find any issues with the treble. What I mean about trade-off is, if you like the idea of having a headset that changes color around the outer headset then the Arctis 5 is for you. The Arctis 5 is a wired headset meaning you will be attached to your gaming device and can not walk around listening to music. If you do not need a headset that changes color, which you can not see while wearing them anyway, and would prefer to have the ability to move around wirelessly, then the Arctis 7 would be your best bet. I personally do not have a need for a color changing headset and also prefer to have wireless. So I chose the Arctis 7. Not disappointed at all.

Please try again later.The major differences between the Arctis 5 and the Arctis 7 is that the Arctis 7 does not have the Prism RGB Illumination that the Arctis 5 has and the Arctis 7 provides a Wireless connection via a USB receiver, which the Arctis 5 used a hard wired USB connection. The both make use of the AirWeave Ear Cushions which is SUPER comfortable for extended periods of use. I have the Arctis 7 and use them every single day and I have no trouble using them for everything. From making phone calls to watching movies to playing video games. Like I said before, the major difference (besides the price) is that the Arctis 7 does not have the Prism RGB Illumination and the Arctis 7 is a wireless headset that connects via a USB receiver. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Wireless connectivity is the largest difference. But, I dare to say that the 5 are lighter on your head than the 7 and for the price I thing that the 5 would be the exact same option just cheaper. If wireless is what you want then 7.
