Do these pickup any background noise? null

They do pick up noise unless you use the sonar app on pc by them. The other guy said they have noise cancelation but that is what YOU hear.

i set the microphone volume to 5 and then did a quick db measurement of the usual background noise in my home and then set it to not pickup any sound in that range in sona and now everything works perfectly

Yes, these have insane background noise pickup, I mean next room over quiet conversation will be heard, on PC they have a crappy buggy software you can use to reduce it, but on Xbox/PS5 your stuck with everyone hearing everything in your home no matter what you do, it's maddening and very very crappy for a $350 price tag. I have them and other then this they would be great but now I have to get rid of them, it's so so so bad.

Depends on hoe close the person is sitting next to your... like i gane right next to my partner with each of our own head sets. And if im bursting out laughing, you can hear fhe background. But we literally sit right next to each other and i dont hear myself speaking... again... unless im screaming

If you are referring to sound in the room.. They have a setting for noise canceling. If you are referring to the mic they have a cover that keeps noice down. If you are talking about in game audio, I can here there foot steps from other players as the approach

This headset has Auto Noise Cancelling built-in into the headset, and this can adjust more in the GG Engine
