Yes it will. I have a couple of equivalent Nikon DSLRS and this tripod has handled them well. The tripod will not fall or anything if being used properly. If you are looking for special angles and more stability, then a more premium aluminum or a carbon fiber tripod would work better.

This tripod is very light, so I'd be careful putting an expensive camera on it. It will work with an 80D, but I wouldn't recommend using the elevating head part to make it higher as it is fairly unstable with my phone on it.
