A:Answer If he already has a Nintendo Switch, Fortnite is available for free on the Nintendo Switch as well. As far as whether Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is worth it, if he enjoys Nintendo games, he will probably enjoy Super Smash Bros. Ultimate—I certainly enjoyed playing the early Super Smash Bros. games when I was younger, but that was largely because it had so many characters I knew, like Mario, Bowser, and Pikachu. And with Ultimate's cartoony style of violence, it is no more—arguably less—violent than Fortnite, if that is a concern.
Super Smash Bros. also has a low skill floor (easy to pick up if you haven't played before) and high skill ceiling (even if you have played for a while, there are a lot of advanced techniques to learn and practice), so if it is a game he enjoys, he should get a lot of playtime out of it. Plus it is a great party game, if he often plays video games with friends.
(Sorry if that was more information than you wanted, but I hope that helps!)
