- Answer Dear Deadspot, The SureCall Flare 3.0 is designed to amplify RF Sheltered areas... basements or upper level of the house (particularly if you have a metal roof or other radio unfriendly building materials). So the official answer to your question is: Flare 3.0 is designed to amplify cellular signal 'inside of your house'. The inside coverage estimate of 3.000 sqft is the maximum and it assumes that signal power on the roof is moderate or even good. Since you are asking if Flare 3.0 will also amplify the outside signal... that suggests the cellular signal power on the roof is NOT very good. When outside signal is weak the Flare 3.0 inside coverage will be smaller. Dear Deadspot, can you make a cellular call from the roof of your house? If not, can you at least text from the roof of your home? If you have ZERO outside coverage there will be nothing for Flare to boost.

- Answer Metal is a great reflector of RF so using a Surecall booster with a metal clad building or a house that has a metal roof is very common. Special Considerations: Metal reflects RF better if you aim and position the outside antenna to get more direct signal from the tower and less bounce off of the metal.

- Answer If your install requires more than 50ft of RG-6 cable to the antenna... it's better to upgrade to RG-11 cable as this thicker cable has 1/2 the line-loss.

- Answer Hi Dave, The cellular frequencies used in the US are different than Africa. The SureCall Flare 3.0 amplifies the 5 most important cellular frequencies in the US... bands 5, 12, 13, 25 & 4. As a rule, Africa uses different cellular frequencies. There are parts of Africa that use band 5 (850 MHz Cellular) but from what i can find on-line i don't think Flare 3.0 will work for you in the Congo.

Questioni have a garage with a second floor apartment. to get the min25' vertical the amp would need to be on the first floor. does the amp single work well through ceiling and floor with insulation?

- Answer Hi John, excellent & informed question. To get the maximum performance from your SureCall booster you need to have sufficient RF separation between the inside & outside antenna. In our experience 25' of vertical separation does the trick. I am assuming you do not have a metal roof... because that material will provide LOTS of RF separation. If you have an asphalt-shingle roof... 8 to 12' of vertical will not provide enough RF separation to allow your booster to operation at FULL GAIN. Options: 1) Install with minimal separation... the booster will automatically adjust gain and still might provide enough in-building coverage to meet your requirements. 2) Install a metal sheet in the attic between the roof antenna and the inside Flare 3.0 amplifier. I have attached an advanced installation guide which is more rigorous then 90% of our customers require... but it provides the advanced installation booster installation tricks to get best performance from your SureCall Flare 3.0 booster. https://www.surecall.com/support/uploads/specsheets/SureCall_Advanced_Install_Guide_Flare_3.0_CA.pdf
