• A:Answer Hello, The cameras are POE (Powered Over Ethernet) this camera does not require a power adapter. Please keep in mind for the cameras to work as POE you must have a compatible POE NVR as well.

Q: QuestionDo i need a dvr for the camera? Is it possible just to use the camera via a smartphone? I want to buy as a gift for my mother who has the basic "direct tv" dvr installed. Also what exactly do I need for sound?

• A:Answer No this camera is not set up to work by itself it’s designed to be part of a DVR system and hey make a simple system with four cameras I have a more complex system but it’s rocksolid no failures very easy to use
