“So if this backpack has charging capabilities and if I read the answers correctly, you need the charger battery pack and you can't connect the backpack thru the USB provided into a wall charger. Some of the responses are very confusing.”

There’s a pocket in the backpack that can hold an external charger. You have to get your battery pack separately. The idea is that you put your battery pack into your back pack, plug in the included usb charger and then zip it up. There’s an external usb you can plug devices into without having to unzip your backpack. It doesn’t have a lightning cable for Apple users, but would work for android.
